Sakari Kotola – Bio

Sakari joined Kind Atom after leading communications and public relations in a major nuclear green-field project. Sakari is a member of the advisory team and acts as the community advisor.

As our community advisor, Sakari supports our customers in managing stakeholder expectations and relations. Furthermore, he can help directing the communications and public relations efforts to give the best benefit for the customer program and projects.

Sakari has a MSc degree in economics and business administration (1995) and has always been combining business orientation and new technology. He is born in 1969, lives in Helsinki (Finland) and has a wife and three grown-up children.

Sakari enjoys endurance sports such as recreational running and cross-country skiing, as well as scuba diving and paddling.

 

Career and experience

Sakari (LinkedIn) carries over 25 years of experience in managing technology intensive businesses in a highly international environment:

  • Leading communications and public relations in a green-field nuclear project facing a heavy turnaround to reach progress, resulting also in a much better credibility among decision makers and general public (Fennovoima, 2019-2022);

  • Leading change communications in a major M&A integration program where a leading global business acquired another global company with the need to align operations in more than 40 countries around the world (Nokia, 2016-2018);

  • Managing marketing operations and corporate responsibility activities of a global company with a particular focus on sustainability ranking (Nokia, 2014-2015);

  • Managing marketing operations targeted at sales and revenue driven marketing as well as supportive governmental relations (Nokia Solutions and Networks, 2011-2013);

  • Leading marketing and communications to ensure smooth integration of new businesses in Japan (Nokia Solutions and Networks, 2010-2011);

  • Leading business development, new ventures, product marketing and product technology in several managerial positions (Nokia, 1995-2009).
